If you have ever dreamed of owning a home, now is the time to pursue your dream! With down payment and closing cost assistance available through the HOME program along with lenders providing their customers with loan products for home ownership, it’s a great time to move forward toward purchasing your own home.
To help you become a savvy home owner, CHANGE, Inc. offers Home Buyer Education Workshops near you. The workshop is an all day class that will provide you with a certificate that is good for two years from the date of the class. Many lenders and down payment assistance programs require you to have HUD housing counseling prior to applying for their programs and this class will meet their requirements. The workshops will provide information concerning the following topics:
- My Credit Report and Score
- How to create a spending plan and savings
- Why do I need a home inspection?
- Which real estate agent is right for me?
- How to live green
- What money do I need?
- How to select a mortgage product that is right for me
- What is a closing?
- How to stay a home owner
The next class offered will be Friday, October 20, 2017 at Mary H. Weir Public Library in Weirton, WV.
Pre-registration is required and the class is FREE if you have your own credit report to submit with your application. If you do not have a current credit report, the cost for a credit report with score is $24.00 for a single person and $37.00 for a joint report. Applications can be downloaded from our website or picked up at the nearest CHANGE, Inc. office. Incomplete applications for the workshops will not be accepted.
If you are unable to attend a workshop, CHANGE, Inc. also offers an online Home Buyer Education course for a fee. Information and details to take the online course is on our website, www.changeinc.org, under the “Community Services” tab.
